Elijah Johnson, 17, is evidence that 21st-century jazz can be adventurous, fresh, swing hard, and that an exciting young modern guitarist can play memorable melodies and soulful grooves.  

Influenced by Russell Malone, Rodney Jones, Jacques Lesure, Mark Whitfield, Calvin Keys, Melvin Sparks, Roy Hargrove, and Ravi Coltrane among others. Elijah seeks to combine rhythmic ideas, harmonic sophistication, spontaneity, soul, and blues into his own unique approach. He studies with guitar master, Mark Whitfield.
